You can hold a style in place by just applying a small quantity and letting it air dry.

Or create a smooth coat by applying it from the ends to roots, then using a flat brush to blow dry it smooth.

Or get a full coat by applying it to the roots then brushing it through to distribute it. Blow-dry the coat as you brush in the opposite direction of its natural lay. When it is almost dry, switch to the proper direction.
